How to read wheel markings
Width, bead-seat diameter, flange profile, humps and offset: 6.5Jx16H2 ET35.
Rim markings describe dimensions and construction. Example: 6.5Jx16H2 ET35.
| Marking | Meaning |
|---|---|
| 6.5 | Nominal width between bead-seat flanges: 6.5 inches, or 165.1 mm. |
| J | Rim flange profile. |
| x | One-piece drop-centre rim. |
| 16 | Bead-seat diameter in inches, not the overall wheel diameter. |
| H2 | Two circumferential humps retaining the beads of a tubeless tyre. |
| ET35 | Positive offset of 35 mm. |
Other markings
J, JJ and other profiles describe flange shape. H, H2, FH and AH describe hump variants. One matching letter does not establish vehicle compatibility.
Choosing a tyre
Check approved rim widths for the specific tyre model and size against manufacturer data. Do not apply one universal width range to all tyres of the same nominal size.
