What is the centre bore DIA?
Centre bore, hub fit and hub-centric rings.
DIA is the diameter of the wheel centre bore. In a hub-centric design it fits the hub spigot and helps centre the wheel.
Comparing diameters
- Bore matches the hub spigot: the fit is suitable, but all other specifications still need checking.
- Bore is smaller: the wheel cannot be fitted. Machining the bore yourself is not a universally safe solution.
- Bore is larger: some wheels support centring rings with suitable inner and outer diameters. The wheel manufacturer determines whether they may be used.
Do not choose by make alone
Different models and generations of the same make may have different hub diameters. A general “make—DIA” table is not a substitute for the exact vehicle data.
Before installation
Check diameter, PCD, ET, width, fasteners and clearances. Vibration after installation requires diagnosis of seating, balancing and wheel condition.
